Dr. UTTAM SAHA, Post Ph.D. ( Scientist ), 

KHARUPETIA TOWN.

             Sri Uttam Saha was born on 7th January, 1965 at Kharupetia Town, Nutanpatty, (recent Ward No.6) in a middle class family. His father’s name is Late Fatick Ch. Saha and mother’s name is Smt. Geeta Rani Saha. He is the 2nd son of his parents. They are four brothers and one sister.He at first took admission in the local Kharupetia Refeujee L.P. School (Nutanpatty), near his home. Then got admission in Sailabala High School. He passed HSLC (School Final) examination in the Year 1981 in 2nd Division. Then he went to Balurghat in West Bengal in the District of West Dinajpur and got admission in Balurghat Khadimpur Higher Secondary School and passed H.S. (Science) in 1st Division. Then he completed his B.Sc. Degree from Balurghat College with Honours in Chemestry in 1st Class winning Silver Medel.

       In the year 1990 he completed M.Sc. Degree in Chemistry with Distinction winning GOLD MEDEL. In that year he appeared in National Eligibility Test (NET) and qualified for fellowship from Govt. of India. Then he did Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad (IICT) on Medicinal Chemestry. He also got the best Research Scholar Award of Govt. of India during the period of Ph.D. under Junior & Senior Research Scholar Fellowship. It is also mentioned here that all the expenses of his study was born by the Govt. of India from B.Sc. to M.Sc. and Ph.D. in India.

                   In the mean time he got fellowship from the Govt. of Canada and went to Canada for Post Doctorate Research. He completed this research from the University of Ottawa, Canada in the year 1995 under Govt. of Canada.In the year 1996 he received Prestigious Alexander Humboldt Fellowship from the Govt.of German (Europe) and went to German and completed his research in

the Year - 1997

         During his post doctorate research period he has published several research journal articles in international journals.

          During the period from 1998 to 2011 he involved himself on DRUG DISCOVERY RESEARCH at Glycodesign Inc. and Cytochroma Inc., in Toronto, Canada.

                                                                                               In the year 2011 he involved in the research to produce various Bio-based polymer to replace plastic (Non-Bio-biobased polymer).He also published around 20 publications in international journals when he was in Canada and Germany.He has filed several patents in USA and International countries to protect his inventions which are very useful in drug Discovery & Bio-Polymer Research.

He is enjoying his current research carrier and conveyed his all teachers including primary school too to develop his carrier. His hobbies are Music, Cricket, fishing. He is currently involved with Ramakrishna Mission, Toronto, Canada. Marriage Life:

       He married Babita Saha in 1995 (Arrange Marriage) He is the father of one daughter Utsha Saha and one son Soham Saha.
