Idd-Ul-Fitar Festival of Muslim and Dandi Bom at Kharupetia

          "Id-ul-fitar" known as IDD , the great festival of Muslims has been celebrated at Kharupetia town with unlimited joy, happiness and enthusiasm. Thousands of muslim people pay their NAMAJ at the premises of Kharupetia Town Jame Maszid field. A large number of children have been come near Maszid and buy dolls, toys, balloons, makeup materials, banglees from the shop which have been set near Maszid and thus a mela (fair) has been arranged. After finishing NAMAJ the muslim brothers have embraced each other as well as with the friends and well known persons belongs to other religion. Thus a religious harmony has been made here. Hindu friends also have greet their muslim friends on account of this auspicious festival.

DANDI-BOM  celebration at Kharupetia Town :On 12-08-2012.

The Dandi Bom festival started at Kharupetia Town a few years ago in which a few participants, the devotee of Lord Shiva, took part.  Now-a-days this Dani Bom is very popular among the public of this locality i.e. Kharupetia and its adjacent areas like Dhula, Tangni, Dalgaon, Koupati, Rowta. A large number of devotees have joined in this festival from above cited places. This year the Dandi Yatra at Kharupetia has been held on the 12th August, 2012, Sunday at night

  The tour i.e. Yatra has been started from Kharupetia Trinath Ashram and ended at Kharupetia Smashan Kali/Shiva Mandir where the devotees have their bath at the pond of Smashan Kali Mandir and took water from that pond. Then they have gone to Shiva Mandir and pour their water on the SHIVALINGA and pay their homage to God Shiva.  A management committee was constituted to conduct and manage the festival peacefully and smoothly. The road side from Kharupetia Chariali to Smashan Kali Mandir has been decorated by electric light, stalls, volunteer office etc. Several Voluntary organization have set up their stall and they have offered drinking water, cold drinks, tea, khichiri etc. to the devotees as well as the visitors. They have also arranged to clean and water the road regularly to avail facility to the devotees for their Yatra. Law and Order management has been nice and no incidents has been occurred. About whole night the Yatra has been run. Early in the morning Prasad (Khichiri) has been distributed by the committee to public.

66 TH INDEPENDENCE DAY :    
Chairman is hoisting the flag at KTC office

         The 66th Independence Day on 15th August, 20112 has been celebrated at Kharupetia Town with whole day long various interesting programmes from Kharupetia Town Committee. At 5 a.m a PRABHATPHERI (Morning procession has done by the speeches of great men, patriotic songs, recitation  in which a lots of boys and girls joined. 

             At 7-30 a.m. National Flag has been hoisted by the Chairman of Kharupetia Town Sri Asish Nandi at Kharupetia Town Committee Office premises.

              At 8-30 a.m. national flag has been hoisted at Kharupetia Town field by the Chairman of Kharupetia Town Sri Joy Nandi which is usually arranged by the Central Independence Day Celebration Committee where the Chairman has kept his speech addressing the residents, students of Kharupetia by mentioning the developmental works of this town which have already completed and which are to be started very shortly.

      In this central programme Assam Police, team from Health Department, Fire Service Organization, teachers and respected and social worker persons have been presented. The sweets have been distributed among the children.

     At 9-30 am the sports and games competition has been organised among the school students which has been conducted by Sri Pradip Sarkar, a sport man of this town. At 4 p.m. a pity football match has been played between the Town Committee 11th and the Teachers 11th.
